As a Purchasing Co-Op, you will work directly with other members of the purchasing department, as well as engineering, manufacturing, and a diverse supply base. The interaction with these various groups will allow the individual to build communication skills and improve critical thinking in a professional atmosphere.

This position is for a Spring 2026 Co-Op, with a start date of January 2026 and running through the spring semester.

What You’ll Do :

• Processing the purchases of select Maintenance, Repair, and Operation (MRO) orders with assistance and oversight of the Indirect Buying team.
• Working with various software and E-commerce systems.
• Working on projects and producing reports to assist buyers.
• Analyzing, preparing, and negotiating quote packages.
• Assisting with the liquidation of obsolete raw material and parts inventory.
• Communicating effectively and professionally with vendors, buyers, internal stakeholders & management.
• Troubleshooting vendor or order issues to help maintain the orderly function of the department.
• Appling Total Cost of Ownership metrics in evaluating purchasing decisions.
• Keeping good records.
• Passing on their knowledge and assisting with the training of their successor.
