RN MDS Coordinator – Leadership Role in Clinical Compliance
We're seeking a detail-oriented and experienced RN MDS Coordinator to lead care planning and compliance efforts in our skilled nursing facility. This management position plays a key role in coordinating timely and accurate MDS assessments, CAAs, and care plans in alignment with CMS RAI Manual regulations and Life Care standards.
As part of the leadership team, the MDS Coordinator participates in the on-call rotation, which occurs on average once every 8th weekday and every 7th weekend. This role requires strong clinical judgment, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to educate and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams.
Ideal candidates will hold an active RN license, have at least two years of nursing experience (geriatric preferred), and demonstrate advanced knowledge in post-acute care practices.
Position Summary
The RN MDS Coordinator coordinates and assists with completion and submission of accurate and timely interdisciplinary MDS Assessments, CAAs, and Care Plans according to CMS RAI Manual Regulations and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
- Currently licensed / registered in applicable State. Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment.
- Two (2) years' nursing experience. Geriatric nursing experience preferred.
- CRN C Certification (clinical compliance)
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
