Production Planner - Exempt

We are always seeking to hire talented, hard-working, and committed individuals for roles in Operations (CNC Machining, Tool Making, and Fabrication / Assembly), Engineering, Quality and other Support Roles.

We are looking for a qualified Production Planner to organize production according to demand and quality standards. You will be the one to ensure our goods are produced on time in a profitable manner. An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are very useful for the role. The goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations.

Location : Based out of Newington, CT

Reports to : Value Stream Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate production workflow for multiple products

Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay

Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand

Assign workers and other staff to particular production operations

Schedule shift according to production needs

Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget

Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption

Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)

Prepare and submit status and performance reports

Keep paperwork organized

Collaborate with quality control, shipping / receiving and other departments.

Performs other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.

Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.

Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.

Participate in training as required.

Regular and predictable attendance. Job may require more than a 40 hr work week to complete daily responsibilities.

Ability to read and write English.

5-10% Domestic Travel required

Physical Demands :

Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.

Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility

Work Environment :

Work usually performed in a combination of office and plant setting.

High noise levels from operating machines

Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts

Requirements :

Bachelor degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or Materials required or the equivalence of 5-7 years of experience in Production Planning.

Ideal candidate must be detail oriented, have a forward thinking mindset, and possess a strong interest in process improvement.

Experience in Materials Planning or Logistics is required.

Must have experience working with ERP software, experience in INFOR (Syteline) preferred.

Experience in MS Office is a must, preferably with Excel
