Forklift Operator

We are seeking a Forklift Operator for our First Quality Home Care Products, LLC facility located in Salt Lake City, UT.
Primary responsibilities include :
- Adheres to all Safe Work Practices (SWP) and organizational policies and procedures. Must abide by all safety requirements in an effort to attain safety goals.
- Pick and stage raw materials for manufacturing area.
- Pull and delivery of materials to designated areas on the manufacturing floor.
- Delivery and removal of materials at the reclaim areas (i.e., fluff bales, etc.).
- Pickup and delivery of packaging to manufacturing lines.
- Participate in all physical inventories.
- Pull and stage corrugate boxes for manufacturing.
- Able to use the data collection system (scanners, computer, etc.).
- Secure all trailers at the dock via procedures.
- Load / unload trucks and trailers.
- Take scrap and trash to dumpster or baler area, as required.
- Performs general housekeeping tasks to keep the warehouse in "tour ready" condition. Tasks can include : sweeping, picking up debris / trash.
- Place rejected materials and finished product in designated locations.
- Load wooden pallets onto designated trailer, no less than 18 inches high.
- Pick up and stage empty, wooden pallets from the manufacturing floor.
- Assist in the warehouse operations as needed, and handle other such duties as assigned (i.e. material handler, etc.).
- Transports return to stock (RTS) items from manufacturing to the warehouse.
- Completes daily pre-shift inspection of powered industrial equipment to ensure proper maintenance of warehouse equipment.
- Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Attend and participate in all training programs, meetings, etc.
- Perform cycle counts as needed.
- Stage finished product for loaders, in designated locations.
- Complete all applicable paperwork in accordance with job duties and responsibilities.
- Unload, check and count incoming raw materials.
- Place materials in designated areas, within warehouse.
- Must be able to effectively communicate (orally and written) with associates and other departmental personnel.
The ideal candidate should possess the following :
High school diploma or equivalent.Must have at least 1-2 years of forklift experience.Organizational ability and effective communication skills required.Must be able to work overtime (weekday and weekend) as required.Must be able to make decisions in an independent mode.Must be able to articulate and clearly convey information, directions, etc.; must have good interpersonal and leadership skills and interface with all departments;Must be able to speak, read and write the English language and perform basic mathematical skills. Must be able to pass minimum required standard on all competency tests.The employee will be working in a safe manner in a manufacturing plant operation at all times and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).The associate will be working in a warehouse environment.Operators of powered industrial trucks shall be physically qualified, including normal mobility and manual dexterity; normal visual capabilities, including depth perception and field of vision; and normal hearing ability.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and be able to push / pull up to 100 lbs. of initial force and 60 lbs. of sustained force.Must be able to work in indoor / outdoor environment.Must be able to stand and / or sit for prolonged periods of time.Must be able to repetitively ascend and descend from powered industrial equipment (tugger, forklift, etc.) up to 225 times.Must be able to bend, kneel, crouch and reach.What We Offer You
