Locum Endocrinologist - Fredericksburg, Virginia

Full-Time 6-Month Contract Outpatient with Light Call

Opportunity Snapshot : A well-established healthcare system in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Endocrinologist for a full-time locum assignment. This role offers a stable schedule, an established patient panel, and a collaborative support staff. Providers should be comfortable managing Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including insulin pump management, and may assist with occasional call coverage.

Key Details :

Start Date : January 5, 2026

Contract Length : 6 Months

Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM

Patient Load : 18-20 patients per day

20-minute follow-ups

40-minute new patient visits

Call Schedule : Every 3-4 months (to be discussed during interview)

Setting : 100% adult endocrinology

Credentialing : 120 days

Support Staff : Experienced team including Diabetes Education and Nutrition Counseling program

Position Responsibilities :

Evaluate and manage patients with hormonal imbalances and endocrine disorders

Order, interpret, and discuss diagnostic tests

Provide patient education, treatment plans, and medication management

Conduct follow-ups and adjust care as needed

Participate in inpatient consults and collaborate with other providers

Requirements :

Medical Degree (MD or DO) - Required

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology - Required

Ability to manage Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes patients, including insulin pumps - Required

Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills - Required

Proficiency with computers and medical equipment - Required
