Description
Summary :
This Job works within the scope of practice as defined by
the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or the American
Society of Radiologic Technologists. This Job must be able to
handle the movement, set-up, and operation of medical ultrasound
equipment. The Technologist must be able to handle all patients
according to the needs of that patient and take direction from the
Radiology Medical Director, understand patient assessment / treatment
procedures, and document appropriate procedural information in the
patient's medical record. Responsible for accurately and
responsively performing varied and moderately complex clinical
tasks. Works on problems of diverse scope and complexity. Assists
clinical team members and department or unit management in
determining methods and procedures for new tasks. Assists with
regulatory compliance. May be asked to participate in educational
presentations to staff / students. May serve as a functional mentor.
Expected to be an active / current member of the American Institute
of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).

and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory
entities.
Performs examinations / procedures as
needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of the
Manager’s license(s), certification(s), and / or documented
competencies.
Demonstrates flexibility by
working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or
required.
Ensures completed exams are scanned
and stored correctly in PACS.
Ability to
follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate
any problem(s) or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if
needed.
Troubleshoots and reports any
equipment malfunctions to the Director / Manager and / or Biomedical
personnel; does appropriate follow-up.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program or
other accepted and approved equivalent
required
Associate degree
preferred
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in at least 3
Ultrasound disciplines :
Echocardiography
(adult, fetal or
pediatric)
years of clinical experience preferred
Basic
computer experience required

Sonography (S) by ARRT or Abdomen (AB) RDMS by
ARDMS required
Requires one or more of the
following specialties :
Breast (BR) RDMS by
