Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for an Audience Services Specialist. This position serves as primary ticket sales person for the School box office during regular business hours, processing approximately 20,000 tickets over the year and answering-on average- 98-100 or so calls a day during peak times, and coordinates / schedules the venue house staff for performances as well as monitors staff during opening procedures at the venue. As part of the ticket sales processes, prepares twice-weekly deposits of receipts, totaling more than $250,000 a year. Will require extended hours, after hours, and weekend duties during theatre performances.

Responsibilities

  • Provides telephone reception and box office sales management for the UNG-Brenau collaborative Gainesville Theatre Alliance program and Georgia Film Festival (GFF). Serves as primary reservationist for WonderQuest school matinees (10 performances with approximately 6,000 teachers and children attending from multiple counties across Northeast Georgia).
  • Prepares and processes community invitation letters and resulting orders. Executes season renewal processes in conjunction with Dept Business Officer and Marketing Specialist for approximately 550 package holders annually.
  • Provides general office support : distributes incoming mail for the department's 12 UNG faculty / staff; bundles outgoing mail; monitors office supplies; proofreads marketing materials as needed; prepares mailing lists as needed; attends weekly departmental meetings; assists Foundation with coordination of donor lists.
  • Provides oversight for 4-6 students working in the box office and 11-18 staff oversight at venue during performances.
  • Makes regular deposits to Bursar's Office of all ticket sales, utilizing sales reports and matching credit card processing reports with copies given to School Business Officer.
  • Attends community events as needed to solicit and fulfill ticket sales for GTA productions.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles; intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with faculty / staff, students, and the public.
  • Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Theatre experience preferred.
  • Proposed Salary

  • The proposed salary range is : $19.72-$21.69 per hour.
