Job Description & Requirements Specialty : MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 11 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights, flexible Employment Type : Travel Job Title : Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (MICU RN) Location : Rochester, NY Start Date : November 11, 2025 Contract Length : 13 Weeks Shift : 3x12-Hour Nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced MICU RN for a 13-week contract assignment in Rochester, NY. This role involves caring for critically ill patients in a 16-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit and requires a strong clinical background in high-acuity settings. Key Responsibilities Provide care for patients with complex conditions including : Sepsis ARDS Renal and heart failure Multi-organ failure Alcohol withdrawal and overdose Post-cardiac arrest / targeted temperature management Respiratory failure / shock CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, Impella Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 2, with occasional 1 : 1 based on acuity Work every other weekend as part of the regular schedule Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based care Qualifications Active New York RN license in hand (required) Minimum of 2 years of recent MICU experience Certifications required : Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – Preferred First-time travelers are welcome Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility Additional Information Unit Size : 16 beds Patient Population : High-acuity critical care Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Local candidates not accepted All time-off requests must be submitted with application and are subject to approval About The Judge Group Judge Healthcare, a division of The Judge Group, bridges the talent divide for companies and organizations across the healthcare ecosystem, providing resources and specialized roles such as travel nurses, allied health professionals, locum tenens, and more.
