Senior Database Administrator

Overview

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to administer all aspects of Microsoft SQL Server. This role supports the Information Technology department and contributes to government innovation by delivering reliable database solutions and collaborating with teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server including replication, backup / restore procedures, capacity planning, reporting services, analysis services, and integration services
• Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2016
• Provide all aspects of basic systems administration support including planning, execution, testing, installations, and configurations of new hardware and software
• Recommend and implement solutions for SQL performance monitoring and tuning
• Implement, deploy, and / or support Microsoft technologies such as Visual Studio Framework, VB.NET, ASP.NET and Web Services
• Support virtualization technologies such as VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V, creating and configuring virtual machines
• Perform backups of web, application, and database servers according to policies and procedures, including daily incremental backups and weekly full backups
• Perform database activities such as monitoring, space management, and support, with extended hours as required

Base pay range : $89,301.33 / yr - $121,194.66 / yr
