JOB OVERVIEW :

The Quality Technician 2 is responsible for performing a variety of tests to analyze quality and establish grade levels of product from various production lines, to determine if the product meets specifications and informs appropriate personnel of non-conformities. Performs sanitation related duties by mechanically dismantling and re-assembling components of food processing equipment, in addition to the floors, walls and related facilities. Adheres to all procedures and practices associated with Food Safety, Food Security and Food Quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Performs a variety of QA inspection activities both in process and / or final inspection (includes basic math calculations and data entry of results) to determine the quality and grade of the product.
• Ensures product quality standards are clearly defined and that the finished product quality attributes are within specification.
• Notifies appropriate personnel if test results do not meet specifications as needed.
• Understands and follows Blue Diamond's Line Certification Program, HAACP procedures, and CCP procedures.
• Capable of making informed quality-related decisions independently while escalating critical issues appropriately.
• Works with other plant personnel to ensure samples are collected according to documented procedures. Assist in pre-operational start up verifications.
• Calibrates and assists in maintenance of inspection instruments.
• Engaged in processing quality data for review and analysis including customer complaints.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a standard manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, hazardous materials, and heavy machinery in varying work and weather conditions. You may be required to occasionally climb stairs and / or ladders.
