Tenure Track Assistant Professor Position at the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health, Georgia Southern University
Reporting to the Health Policy and Community Health Department Chair, the Assistant Professor requires maintaining an active methodological and interdisciplinary research program, engaging with multidisciplinary research teams, mentoring students, and teaching graduate and undergraduate classes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an active, methodologically rigorous, interdisciplinary research program.
- Engage with multidisciplinary research teams and collaborate across public health domains.
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in public health.
- Mentor students and supervise dissertation committees as appropriate.
- Provide service to the community and to the department, college, and university through committee work and outreach activities.
- Engage in scholarship / creative activity leading to presentations at professional meetings and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Be actively involved in professional associations and outreach activities.
Qualifications and Focus
Demonstrated foundational knowledge in substance use and addiction from a public health perspective.Potential for securing external funds in substance use prevention, harm reduction, addiction treatment, and addiction recovery.Ability to articulate a clear approach to integrating community health principles, health policy, and public health practices.Appointment Details
The position is a 10-month, tenure-track appointment.
