PCU Registered Nurse Job Details Location : Denver, CO 80218 (Colorado nursing jobs) Healthcare Setting : Transplant / Stepdown Unit (PCU) Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 23, 2026 Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM (12-hour day shifts) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1470-$1570 Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Unit Size : 34 beds Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license (Registered Nurse – Colorado or compact state) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg or Telemetry nursing experience Experience with Heparin infusions and PCA pumps required BLS certification (American Heart Association required) Stepdown / PCU nursing experience preferred Solid organ transplant patient care (kidney, liver, pancreas) a plus Strong adaptability and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment PCU Nurse Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to PCU and transplant patients Monitor, assess, and respond promptly to changes in patient conditions Administer medications, including Heparin drips and PCA pumps Perform wound and drain care (wound vac, chest tube, JP drains) Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes Document patient care using Meditech EMR Operate unit equipment : bladder scanners, EKG machines, AccuVein, patient lifts Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and staff Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
