Ability to read and interpret technical schematics. Proficiency in connecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting fiber optics systems. Knowledge of optical fiber testing and measuring equipment. Responsibilities
- Breakout : The operator must read technical schematics and strip the cable to the required length.
- Prep : The operator must strip the end of the breakout, apply numbered labels, and rubber boots.
- Cleaving : The operator must cleave the very tip of the fiber using a specialized scope.
- Polishing : The operator must follow a preset polishing recipe, use proper sanding pads, and ensure no dirt or spots are visible.
- Testing : The operator is required to test all connectors and ensure they meet testing requirements.
