Responsibilities

Assists the registered nursing staff in providing positive patient outcomes through direct patient care. Under supervision of a Registered Nurse gives direct and indirect patient care as assigned within scope of practice. As part of the healthcare team, assists in assuring that the patients, family members or other caregivers attain optimal health and continuity of care. Assures that patient care is carried out in a safe environment.

Qualifications Or Skills Required

Currently licensed with the State of Texas or current Paramedic Certification through Texas Department of State Health Services. Current CPR certification, ACLS, and PALS required within 6 months for Emergency Room. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to stand and / or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting may be required.
