Job Description & Requirements Specialty : RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours Employment Type : Local Contract Job Title : Milk Bank Technician (Dietary / Nutrition Worker) Location : 4756 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19718 Duration : 7 Weeks Schedule : Full-time, 8 : 00 AM start, 40 hours / week (General shift) Primary Function : Prepare patient-specific feedings using human breast milk (BM), donor breast milk (DM), formula, and additives (Prolacta, cream, HMF) following strict aseptic techniques. Key Responsibilities : Verify and obtain accurate patient feeding orders. Communicate with healthcare providers or nurses regarding any concerns or questions. Calculate and prepare required amounts of BM, DM, and additives for 24-hour feeding schedules. Prepare and label infant feedings using the MOMS labeling system accurately. Manage inventory and stock lactation lounges and milk bank supplies. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the milk bank. Monitor breast milk refrigerator and freezer checkpoints regularly. Perform additional duties as assigned. Contacts : Interact daily with patients, families, visitors, medical staff, volunteers, and students. Supervision : Reports to Nurse Manager and Assistant Nurse Manager. No supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent; prior hospital or related experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations. Experience in fast-paced environments requiring precision and order transcription is a plus. Food handling certification is advantageous. Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of department policies and protocols. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow directions from nursing and medical staff. Commitment to safety, confidentiality, and a positive work environment. Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to work independently and collaboratively. Physical Requirements : Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, carry, twist, stoop, climb, and handle tasks as needed.
