Following the continued success of Tetra Tech in Ireland, having secured a variety of new and interesting brownfield regeneration, ground investigation and hydrogeological frameworks and projects, we are looking for an ambitious Assistant Geo Environmental Consultant to join our team based in Gorey, Wexford.

The successful candidate will be joining us at an exciting time in our growth and development as a business and will get the opportunity to work on a diverse and interesting portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing several key client accounts.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, confidence and self-motivation with strong commercial and technical skills, and excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Develop project management and leadership skills within a fast-growing, dynamic consultancy environment; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Provide professional advice on feasibility, ground investigation, testing, procurement and implementation of innovative solutions.
  • Join a busy team delivering focused solutions for a growing key client base with emphasis on technical excellence, client care and effective project management.
  • Collaborate with land contamination, environmental due diligence, ground investigation, groundwater and geo-technical specialists to deliver holistic solutions and work with geo-environmental teams in other offices and with planning, environment and engineering teams.
  • Work approximately 50% on-site and 50% in-office, with workload-driven variation.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Degree in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology or relevant environmental science discipline. A Master's degree is beneficial; graduates will be considered, with ideal candidates having relevant experience.
  • Either working towards Chartership with a relevant body (CIWEM, IEMA, Geo Soc) or eligible to join an accredited chartership scheme.
  • Understanding of current contaminated land technical guidance and development planning regime.
  • Experience in managing and supervising ground investigations on site (desirable), including groundwater and ground gas monitoring; ability to interpret data; site works accreditations / qualifications (e.g., Safe Pass) are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of current practice and standards / guidance for investigation and remediation of contaminated land.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and full IT literacy to produce clear, concise, technically robust reports.
  • Good understanding of health, safety and environmental management.
  • Full, preferably clean, driving license.
  • Willingness to undertake site work outside normal hours and occasional working away from home.
  • Team player with strong social, interpersonal and communication skills.
