We are currently hiring a Full-Time Lead Teacher for our Preschool Classroom (ages 4–5) . This position is located in Towson, Maryland and offers the opportunity to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact in the lives of young children.

Position Summary :

The Lead Teacher works collaboratively with an Assistant Teacher to care for and educate up to 12 children in the Preschool program. This role includes implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and building strong, respectful relationships with families.

Qualifications :

  • Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field
  • 2–5 years of relevant teaching experience
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Level 3 or higher in the Maryland Excels program
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds multiple times daily

Our Educational Philosophy :

  • Each child is a unique learner; we adapt to individual needs through thoughtful planning, flexible teaching strategies, and intentional classroom design.
  • The tone of the classroom is set by the teacher's approach—calm, responsive, and nurturing.
  • Active play and nature exploration are central to our curriculum; children spend at least one hour outdoors daily.
  • We emphasize process over product—encouraging hands-on experiences that build curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking.
  • Lead Teacher Responsibilities :

  • Foster a warm, loving, and developmentally supportive environment where every child feels seen, heard, and valued
  • Communicate with compassion and professionalism with families, children, and colleagues
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Teacher and administrative staff to maintain a strong, connected school culture
  • Plan and implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Keep the classroom organized, welcoming, and reflective of children's learning
  • Document and share learning experiences and daily updates with families via the Brightwheel App
  • Participate in and sometimes lead school-wide family events and celebrations
  • Serve as the primary liaison for families, including communication around behavior, health, and daily experiences
