Radiology Job Details

Job Title : Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) – Locum Tenens

Employment Type : Locum Tenens (Travel Contract)

Location : Urbana, Illinois 61801

Healthcare Setting : General Radiology Department

Contract Duration : 20 weeks (October 20, 2025 – March 7, 2026)

Shifts : 3x12 Hour Days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 7 : 00AM–7 : 30PM)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1980 - $2030

Radiologic Technologist Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist

Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field, or Certificate in Radiologic Technology

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

IEMA Radiography License (Illinois)

ARRT Radiography (R) certification

Strong clinical skills and ability to coordinate patient flow and technical procedures

Positive attitude and commitment to improving the healthcare work environment

Radiology Job Responsibilities

Perform radiographic procedures, acquiring and processing patient exams per department protocols and accrediting body guidelines

Review patient cases, labs, and history to ensure accurate exams

Administer IV, oral, and rectal contrast as needed; respond to adverse reactions

Screen patients for pregnancy and perform testing when applicable

Ensure completeness and accuracy of radiology orders and patient data

Critique imaging quality, positioning, technical factors, and alignment

Transfer and verify image data in PACS; provide medical history for interpretation

Maintain imaging equipment and workplace environment, including supply inventory

Report equipment malfunctions and safety events promptly

Assist in training students and new staff as needed

May perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence

Support other imaging modalities within the department as licensed
