Carpenter's Place (CP) a faith base organization is seeking dedicated food service team member.

KITCHEN COORDINATOR This is a part-time position that requires commitment and good attendance. Meals are a crucial service that is provided every day. This person must be able to multi-task and comfortable interacting with people experiencing homelessness, addictions, and mental health issues. This person will be responsible for serving breakfast and lunch to the Dayroom guests and preparing meals for guests for special events on occasions. Works closely with volunteers and donors that bring in food and serve the meals, ensuring a positive experience. This staff person must maintain cleanliness and order of the kitchen, keep kitchen supplies stocked, manage and adhere to all requirements of food safety management. This staff person will share in the responsibilities of monitoring and relating to the guests in the day room, individuals who are assigned as kitchen interns, and volunteers that serve. Responsibilities also include meal planning, prep, and cooking. Position will also require driving for supplies pickup on occasions.

If not certified in food sanitation, must be eligible to obtain the Food Sanitation Manager certification within 2 months of employment. A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required for work-related duties. Basic computer knowledge and the physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds, push, pull, reach, walk, climb, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods are also fundamental to the position. Experience in food service and working in an environment that serves homeless adults is preferred.
