Job Summary / Company :

Sparks Group in partnership with a nonprofit organization is seeking an Accountant. As the Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting a small finance team with contract invoicing, donation revenue and general accounting support. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of relative nonprofit accounting experience not limited to donation, request for funding and contract billing (both state and local governments). Responsibilities :

• Manage the full cycle of State and Local government contract invoicing, including preparation, coordination for approval, submission, and tracking of Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Monitor AR aging reports for government contracts, following up with granting agencies to ensure timely payment and resolve invoicing issues.
• Process and record all donation revenue, including incoming donations, grant payments, and pledges, while supporting monthly reconciliation with the Development department.
• Perform essential General Accounting duties, including month-end close support, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing schedules for 1099 filings.
• Support grant compliance, contract budget management, and external audit requests as part of broader Finance department operations.
