Position Description
The Nurse Aide Program RN Instructor teaches The Training and Education Funds Nurse Aide Training Center (NATC) state-approved curriculum and serves as an advisor and mentor to students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Maintain accurate and confidential records on all students, including allstaterequired assessments and attendance records.
- Deliver approved curriculum to enhance knowledge and clinical skills aimed at assisting students with passing the state nurse aide examinations.
- Develop clinical rotation schedule / residentcaseload in conjunction with clinical site.
- Supervise, train, and support students during clinical rotations.
- Evaluate student clinical progress daily, utilizing approved assessment tools (procedure evaluation sheets, anecdotal notes, clinical evaluation sheets, quizzes, examinations, attendance records, etc.).
- Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and safe and effectiveresidentcare and provide student remedial assistance as needed.
- Communicatetimelyandeffectively with students, peers, and clinical site team members.
- Inventory equipment; inform the Coordinator of any needed program equipment or supplies.
- Attend and participate in the TEF NATC related meetings, as needed, in order to collaborate, align instruction, monitor student progress, and continually improve TEFs NATC program.
- Assist with the NATC audit by providing required student, curriculum, attendance and assessment information.
- Promote the mission of The Training and Education Fund NATC in a positive manner with all staff, participants, and partners, and provide a consistent exchange of information in a transparent and collaborative environment.
Education and / or Work Experience Requirements
RN / LPN with current license; minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN / LPN and, at least, 1 year of long-term care experience in this role.Teachingthe Educator(TTE)Certification (PA Department of Education) -preferred; however, will cover the cost of the certification if not already earnedCurrent, negative 2-Step Mantoux, chest x-ray or QuantiFERON TB Gold.Criminal History background report without prohibitive offenses or pending charges at the time of employmentEffectiveand engagingpresentation skillsStrongand professionalverbal and written communication skillsComputer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel andPowerPoint)Must beflexible,able to work under pressure and meet deadlinesMaintaina positive attitude while providing a positive learning experience for studentsMust maintain strict confidentiality of student information, records and performanceAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
