Compensation : The starting pay rate for this position is $87K a year plus a production bonus. Teammates in this role average $100K a year. Basic Job Functions : The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supporting and constructively leading our maintenance department, including directing, planning, organizing, and executing the work activities of the maintenance team. Teammate must drive Nucor’s safety culture and be willing to take responsibility for self and others by setting an example for others to follow. Additionally, the maintenance supervisor motivates others to accomplish efficient operations of the shift and departmental goals focusing on continuous improvements. They must be responsible for safely guiding and directing all aspects of the Maintenance team. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to : creating a safety-make it personal culture, coaching and developing teammates for success, leading continuous improvement, achieving department and divisional goals, leading execution of production process to ensure achievement of high value through low costs, high quality and efficient production; leading and exhibiting team qualities resulting in 1 Nucor / 1 Team, focusing team on highest priorities leading to maximizing up time. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Requirements : 2-year degree in an electrical, mechanical, or civil discipline or equivalent technical training and experience Experience in a Leadership role in an industrial environment Experience in electrical maintenance Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to work at hand. Demonstrable experience or ability to troubleshoot, modify, and write software to control a function or system Experience with project management, maintenance management systems, the maintenance of industrial equipment and systems Experience with Capital Expenditure Preferred Qualifications : Willingness to work a flexible schedule Prior major equipment / machine installation experience Ability to run an effective and organized preventative maintenance program Demonstrated computer skill set including experience with MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD Industrial process control / automation equipment upgrade experience Experience maintaining or designing equipment Electrical (e.g. VFDs, AC induction / synchronous motors) Mechanical (e.g. proportional / servo hydraulic controls) Experience working on Level 1 automation control systems (e.g. PLCs, drives, HMIs, hydraulic controls) Experience with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs,HMIs, and ABB drives would be ideal Experience with industrial communication networks (e.g. Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet) Experience using data analysis to identify process or equipment issues and develop solutions
