This position is within the Risk Proposal and Issuance Portfolio (RPI)  within the GRS Distribution & Underwriting Technology organization . You will be joining an innovative, fast-paced team who owns and supports critical global components and capabilities for our underwriting users. Our portfolio allows underwriters to quickly respond to customer needs by streamlining the quote to bind process, assess, view and communicate policy details to the broker / customer throughout the lifecycle of the policy. Our intent is to offer easily consumable solutions (digital capabilities) for internal and external stakeholders like a SAAS product vendor : secure, configurable, and responsive to customers and stakeholders, providing experiences that users love and cannot live without.

Skills

• Full stack technical engineer : Proficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including AWS serverless applications, Angular UIs, Java RESTful services, Typescript. Prefer an understanding of eventing and orchestration of services.
• Comprehensive problem-solver : As you manage the end-to-end development of software products, you’ll analyze issues at the system level and handle any complications that arise by digging in and understanding in order to implement effective solutions and troubleshoot issues.
• Forward thinker with a design-thinking mindset : Simply fixing the problem isn’t enough; using your proactive mindset and initiative, you’ll continually look for ways to improve performance, quality, and efficiency
• Openness and adaptability to respond to fast-moving circumstances
• Collaboration, flexibility, and the ability to manage time and prioritize work with a globally distributed development team
• Strong oral and written communication skills and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers
• A bachelor's or master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience
• A minimum of three years of software engineering experience
• Experience working in with Agile methodologies.

Pay Philosophy : The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and / or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
