Since our founding in Arvika, Sweden in the early 1970s, we have delivered over 3,000 installations worldwide to public transportation authorities, private fleets, and the rail industry. With production facilities in both Sweden and Buffalo, NY, we continue to expand across Europe, North America, and Australia. Today, the Westmatic Group employs around 75 people, with about half of the workforce based in Buffalo. Westmatic Corporation was established in 2005 in Delaware, U.S., and remains committed to driving innovation, efficiency, and environmental responsibility within the vehicle washing industry.
About the position
Westmatic Corporation is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead and expand our North American operations from Buffalo, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving significant growth in both revenue and profitability over the coming years. This role requires a strong, energetic, and entrepreneurial leader with sharp commercial instincts, strategic vision, and the proven ability to build and scale a high-performing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the North American organization with a clear focus on profitable growth and operational excellence.
- Drive nationwide sales and market development in U.S. and Canada with an entrepreneurial, customer-focused approach.
- Ensure world-class performance in sales, project management, production, installation, and aftermarket services.
- Strengthen and expand Westmatic’s brand presence across the continent, aligned with the company’s “Clean & Green” positioning and long-term innovation strategy.
- Collaborate closely with the sister factory in Sweden to adapt the product platform to North American standards and to optimize production, technology, and resource utilization.
- Recruit, develop, and retain talents to build a strong, motivated, and high-performing team.
- Expand the aftermarket and service business into a key strategic profit driver.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, partners, and key industry stakeholders.
Qualifications
Strong commercial background with significant sales leadership, ideally in project-based technical system sales.Proven track record of successfully leading and scaling a company or business unit, with documented measurable results.Entrepreneurial mindset with demonstrated success in creating growth and opening new business opportunities.Solid financial and business development expertise, with experience managing profitability and working capital.Ability to operate effectively within an international corporate group while driving local initiatives.Exceptional leadership skills with a history of building high-performing teams and fostering a winning culture.Experience in the vehicle wash industry is a strong advantage.Personal Attributes
