Reporting to clinical leadership, the EMT is responsible for providing rapid assessment, stabilization, and safe transport as needed, while supporting the clinical team in upholding the highest standards of patient care. This position is essential in promoting patient safety, well-being, and supporting the organizations mission of holistic healing.Detailed Duty Statement

Provide immediate emergency care and stabilization for clients experiencing medical, behavioral health, or substance use crises.
Assess patient conditions, perform basic life support procedures, and administer first aid or CPR as required.
Safely transport patients to and from treatment facilities, hospitals, or other medical settings as directed.
Monitor and document patient status, reporting changes or concerns to the clinical team promptly.
Assist in the development and execution of emergency response protocols and patient care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with organizational policies.
Educate patients and families on emergency procedures, safety practices, and available support services.
Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain emergency equipment and ensure a clean, safe environment for patient care.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance emergency response and patient satisfaction.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Needed

Current and valid EMT certification in the state of California.

At least 2 years of experience in emergency medical services, preferably in behavioral health or addiction treatment settings.

Strong understanding of emergency care procedures, patient assessment, and safety protocols.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.

Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical documentation.

Commitment to ethical practice and patient-centered care.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
