Our Client is a software solutions company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, with offices in Edmonton, Alberta, the United States, South Africa, and Australia. Our focus is on solving device and data interoperability and management problems primarily for the power utility industry. We integrate cyber-security, operational technologies, and distributed system techniques together when developing solutions to these problems.
Responsibilities
- Achieve the expectations and goals of a 90-day onboarding plan set by the system integration team lead while familiarizing yourself with assigned customer projects.
- Adhere strictly to our client and customer cybersecurity policies and procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Coordinate and lead customer projects and meetings, ensuring effective communication and execution.
- Lead and execute system implementation workshops with customer departments, including project stakeholders, project management, IT, security, and engineering.
- Develop and execute system implementation plans.
- Track billable hours and work closely with the project management team to plan and bring projects to closure.
- Integrate, configure, and customize our client's products according to project requirements, both remotely and onsite.
- Create system test plans and lead customer acceptance test activities.
- Analyze complex engineering problems to identify and propose practical solutions for customers.
- Triage, gather evidence, reproduce, and determine the root cause of customer issues, identifying whether they are environmental, configuration, or software defects.
- Maintain detailed documentation of customer environments, project requirements, customer decisions, and results.
- Create and provide our client's product training to customers.
- Validate our client's software releases prior to customer installations to ensure they meet expectations.
- Work closely with the software team to clarify customer requirements, expectations, and use cases.
- Work closely with the sales team to understand client needs in relation to our client's products, tailor technical demonstrations, and participate in industry conferences to provide technical support and showcase our client's products.
- Support sales team with technical responses for request for proposal (RFP) bids.
- Capable of traveling independently to support industry conferences and project activities.
- Adapt deployment documents and activities to improve standardization and quality of project execution.
- Offer advice, guidance, and support to team members whenever possible.
- Foster a work environment that promotes productivity, innovation, and fairness.
- Work independently on tasks without direct supervision.
- Provide regular updates during the work week to the project team and / or your manager.
- Attend mandatory team standups held and participate in required project meetings.
Qualifications
Required : BSc in Engineering or equivalent.Required : 5 years' or more of system engineering experience.Required : Strong knowledge in Microsoft Windows infrastructure, configuration, and administration that includes but is not limited to group policy, active directory, Windows Server, Internet Information Services (IIS), and SQL Server.Required : Strong knowledge in scripting in PowerShell, JavaScript, Lua or equivalent for automation.Required : Strong knowledge in networking design, configuration, and administration.Required : Experience with network troubleshooting tools including Wireshark, Fiddler and / or Postman.Required : Working knowledge of project management duties.Required : The ability to travel and work for domestic and international projects.Required : To reside in North America.Preferred : Prior experience working in the Electric utilities industry.Preferred : Experience in software development.Preferred : Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certification (MCP) or equivalent certification in relevant programs.Preferred : Experience in SCADA communications, including DNP3, IEC 61850, Modbus and more.Preferred : Prior experience with SCADA devices including protective relays, communications processors, and terminal services.Preferred : Working knowledge of common substation transmission communication architectures.Preferred : Working knowledge of common distribution communication architectures.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 / yr.
