Insight Global is looking for a Tax Associate to join one of their Investment Banking clients in New York City. The Tax Associate will take primary responsibility for preparing corporate and partnership tax returns and supporting workpapers, including annual filings, quarterly estimated payments, tax provision documentation, and various indirect tax submissions. This role also involves coordinating and conducting first-level reviews of compliance materials prepared by the firms external tax advisors. Additionally, the Tax Associate will play a key role in supporting the Tax Departments initiatives related to planning, risk management, and controversy matters such as audits, legislative impact analysis, global reporting, and transfer pricing. This role demands the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, with a strong emphasis on technical tax expertise, analytical thinking, clear communication, and effective collaboration with the Firms external tax advisors. This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days a week onsite in the NYC office.
Day to day responsibilities :
Prepare and review corporate and partnership federal, state and local tax returns (Forms 1120, 1065, Schedule K-1, 5471 and 8858)
Compile and organize underlying data to support quarterly tax provision and year-end compliance, working closely with external tax advisors
Prepare and review U. S. and international income tax provisions on a quarterly basis
Calculate corporate and partnership estimated tax payments
Support federal, state, and local tax audits in collaboration with the Tax Department and external advisors
Analyze and respond to tax notices
Maintain the tax calendar and compliance filing matrix to ensure timely submissions
Partner with internal teams across the organization to meet quarterly and annual tax compliance and provision requirements
Prepare and review indirect tax filings, including sales and use, excise, and commercial rent returns
Contribute to automation and systems implementation initiatives aimed at streamlining the tax reporting process
Monitor and communicate relevant tax legislation and rulings to keep the Tax team informed

CPA Certified Public Accountant
Master's degree in taxation
Experience with advanced Excel and / or technology functions (Power Query, Macros, VBA, Python-based scripts)
3-6 years of Corporate and Partnership tax experience
Bachelors degree in accounting or similar field
Big4 or public accounting experience
Experience within financial services or traditional banking industry
Knowledge of tax compliance software (Go-System, Corptax, Vertex, SuperForm)
Strong experience with MS Office
