Overview
The Engineering group at AKRF is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to be based out of the High Bridge, NJ office . The candidate will have experience in stormwater management design and grading, utility design, drainage, soil erosion and sediment control design, and land use process in New Jersey. Candidates should desire a mix of projects that span planning through design, with occasional field work.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide project and technical support for major engineering design projects including site layout, grading, stormwater management, drainage / conveyance system design, and related supporting disciplines.
- Support the development of construction documents and specifications for stormwater management.
- Support related research, operations and maintenance, asset management, regulatory compliance, and program development tasks to supplement core engineering assignments.
- Support the management and update of task budgets, schedules and deadlines including technical accuracy, awareness of scope and potential scope creep.
- Represent AKRF through direct client interactions on projects.
- Support the delivery of integrated and innovative outcomes through science, problem solving and design of sustainable resilient infrastructure.
- Support the growing need for adaptation and resilience to climate change within our urban environment while promoting livability and public health to our communities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Land Development or Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.3 to 5 years of experience in urban green stormwater infrastructure, water / sewer linear infrastructure, wet weather planning / management, climate adaptation planning or related disciplines, with an emphasis on design and planning work.EIT preferred.Valid driver's license.Experience using AutoCAD is strongly preferred to support our various design projects – knowledge of Autodesk Civil3D pipe network and corridor modeling is a plus.Experience using ArcGIS is strongly preferred for integrating geospatial data in infrastructure planning and design.Experience conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using SWMM, Autodesk Storm & Sanitary Analysis, InfoWorks, HydroCAD is a plus.Proficient skills in : technical writing, state and federal regulations, local and county zoning regulations and ordinances, interpretation of data and observations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry guidelines, site layout design, topographic grading, and stormwater management; preparation of graphs, charts, tables, and statistical models from synthesized data in all reports.Compensation
Compensation will range from $80k to $90K, and commensurate with experience.
