Job Summary

The Senior Nursing Assistant serves as an expert caregiver for residents during scheduled shifts in long-term care. You will display exceptional proficiency in nursing assistance and support your team as needed.

Your responsibilities include providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). You will deliver age-appropriate care tailored to both the physical and psychological needs of residents in accordance with individualized care plans.

Your Role Involves :

  • Assisting residents with everyday activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Recording vital signs, providing psychosocial support, and facilitating transfers and mobility with appropriate techniques.
  • Contributing to meal preparation and creating a positive dining experience for residents.
  • Documenting and communicating resident interactions and changes to the charge nurse.
  • Participating in cleaning duties and enhancing residents' living spaces.
  • Encouraging residents' participation in wellness and recreational programs.
  • You may also lead Restorative Nursing programs and participate in departmental committees as needed.

    Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum age of 16 required; two years of clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Must possess current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Complete annual competency testing and 12 hours of continuing education each year.
  • Potentially complete Restorative Nursing training within 6 months.
