Job Description American Traveler seeks an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist with 2+ years acute care experience and current CCC-SLP for a 13-week assignment covering both inpatient and outpatient care.
Responsibilities Work in an acute care setting providing speech therapy in both inpatient and outpatient environments
Primarily serves patients with dysphagia, cognitive, and aphasia diagnoses
Typical caseload is 8–10 patients per day
Utilizes Cerner for electronic documentation
8-hour day shifts, Tuesday through Saturday schedule
Potential requirement to work one weekend day per month
Must complete online modules prior to start; modules average 3–4 hours and are unpaid
Will be expected to perform both cognitive and swallowing evaluations and treatments for acute and outpatient populations
Must be willing to work two of the three major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's); holiday time off requests considered but not guaranteed
Department-specific orientation is provided
Dress code requires a burgundy polo top with black scrub bottoms
Requirements Active and unrestricted state or compact (NLC) SLP license required if applicable
Current BLS and CCC-SLP certifications required
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, including acute care managing dysphagia
Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
Must submit a copy of driver’s license for consideration
Two professional references required : one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
