[2025-2026] Visual Arts Teacher - High School – KIPP NYC
KIPP NYC Public Schools is a non-profit network of 18 free, public charter schools in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. We partner with families and communities to create joyful and rigorous schools in pursuit of a more just world. The CPHS high school program serves students in grades 9-12 with a college-preparatory focus and a range of AP, dual enrollment, and honors options.
Responsibilities
- Planning a college-preparatory curriculum that aligns with school standards and New York State Standards, fostering critical thinking.
- Delivering thoughtful, rigorous daily college-preparatory lessons.
- Assessing student progress and communicating results to students, families, and colleagues.
- Providing individual and small-group instruction until students achieve mastery.
- Modeling the school's values in communications with students, families, and staff.
- Demonstrating a "whatever it takes" approach to ensure each student is successful.
- Advising a small group of students to support success through high school.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills contributing to a collegial working environment and a values-driven culture (zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, humor).Two years of teaching experience (preferred).New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area (preferred).Bachelor's degree required.Passion for working in a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture.Desire to grow as a teacher by joining the KIPP NYC team and family.Demonstrated success in raising student achievement within KIPP NYC communities (preferred).Additional Information
KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,829 - $142,270 per year, determined by experience, certification, and longevity within the KIPP network.
