Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time Special Education Teacher position is based in Canyon Lake, TX, serving a high school Self-Contained Life Skills classroom. The role offers a contract duration for the NSY term and focuses on delivering specialized instruction to students with significant cognitive and adaptive needs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students in the Life Skills program.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using behavior intervention plans and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and parents to support student development and address challenges.
- Ensure pliance with special education laws, ARD meeting processes, and documentation requirements.
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet individual student needs and promote life skills development.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training, including crisis intervention strategies if applicable.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree from an accredited university.Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Special Education (EC-12) is required.In-depth knowledge of special education laws, ARD process, and practical IEP implementation.Experience or familiarity with Life Skills programs and self-contained classroom settings.Proficiency in managing student behavior and applying behavior intervention plans.Strong organizational, munication, and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment.CPI or equivalent crisis intervention training is preferred but not mandatory.Location :
