CHLDC has an opening for one (1) full-time Grant Writer in the Fund Development Department . This position is a non-exempt role. We seek a talented writer and detail-oriented project manager to prepare and submit compelling government Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and private foundation / corporation proposals for CHLDC’s programs in college success, workforce development, community organizing, education and youth development, housing, and community development.

This is a growth position within our nonprofit organization that reports directly to the Director of Fund Development & Strategic Initiatives and works closely with the Deputy Director of Fund Development. CHLDC has an annual budget of $25 million and serves over 20,000 residents annually from multiple school-based sites, a community center, and storefront offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and submit proposals to private and corporate foundations and grant applications / RFPs to government agencies.
• Prepare timely and accurate progress and final reports to funders, coordinating with program and fiscal staff.
• Lead collaborative proposal development processes with program, management, and fund development staff to ensure quality, timely submissions.
• Support program staff in understanding funder requirements and developing strong narrative content.
• Ensure compliance with administrative requirements for funded awards.
• Maintain accurate and organized files of critical grants-related documents.
• Conduct Government, foundation and corporate research to identify new prospects.
• Maintain the Fund Development grants calendar and reporting tracker.
• Collaborate with Fund Development team on special projects as needed.
