Overview
The successful applicant will provide Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) flight test engineering for ground and flight test efforts for USSOCOM fixed wing aircraft and programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide flight test engineering expertise for USSOCOM fixed wing aircraft and weapon system development.
- Act as a Test Conductor for ground and flight test missions
- Lead and participate in flight test event planning, test execution, data management, data collection and data distribution
- Develop and review test objectives, plans, flight test cards, and other required documentation
- Coordinate and provide requirements for test venues, test assets and participants across the DOD
- Coordinate analysis activities with data analysts
- Apply technical expertise to assess test range, weapon system, or technology project readiness for testing and advise senior government personnel on test readiness
- Prepare mission execution schedules, logistics coordination, and track status and risk
- Interface with other government and range organizations and development contractors
- Assist in directing test operation efforts across test and operations communities to meet programmatic timelines and overcome resource and schedule challenges, as needed
- Facilitate the safety and aircraft modification coordination process
- Aid in operations and maintenance support planning with contract maintenance teams
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science3+ years in test and evaluation, aerospace duties, and / or related technical workAbility to obtain and maintain a FAA Class 3 flight physicalExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience / knowledge of avionics / mission systems, munitions systems, and / or comm / radar systemsWorking knowledge of Air Force T&E policiesProficiency with Microsoft Office productsAbility to work well in a team environment as well as independentlyActive Secret Clearance, TS EligibleDesired Qualifications
Prior aircrew experience as WSO, CSO, EWO, or Pilot, preferably on AFSOC platform(s)Experience serving as a Flight Test Conductor and performing on-aircraft operationsExperience working with or within the 96 Test Wing at Eglin AFB, FLActive Top-Secret clearanceTest Pilot School GraduateMaster of Science degree in engineering5+ years in test and evaluation, aerospace duties, and related technical workExperience preparing flight test documents, Test Plans, Methods of Test, and Flight Test CardsExperience in flight operations, test operations, SOF, Air Dominance, Strike, or ISRInstrumentation, data management, and data analysis experienceExperience as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO)MTSI delivers capabilities to solve problems of global importance.
