The Environmental Services Technician performs a variety of cleaning tasks under general direction. In order to achieve the highest cleaning standards possible, the Environmental Services Technician performs floor care, dust mopping, sweeping outside areas, scrubbing, stripping, buffing, shampooing, and spill removal. Duties include damp washing of counters, telephones, desks, ledges, etc.; washing light fixtures, ceilings, and walls with the use of ladders or step stools; trash and soiled linen removal; isolation room cleaning as prescribed in written procedures; changing cubical curtains and drapes; cleaning and maintaining environmental tools and equipment; cleaning occupied patient areas and dismissals; and other related duties as assigned to ensure the highest quality of service throughout the facility.
