M&S Engineering, LLC seeks a qualified Permit Technician at our Georgetown, Texas location. Employee is responsible for the administrative / clerical work in association with identification of regulatory approval agencies, accessing the requirements and the submittal of permit applications to install overhead and underground electric distribution facilities of all accounts serviced by the Georgetown, Fort Worth, and Midland locations (covers the state of TX). This includes compiling permit data requirements, initiating both electronic and hard copy permit applications, determining necessary permits for different municipalities and specialized areas, communicating with involved parties to minimize turnaround time.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate with peer team member on schedule, delivery, and status of all permits.
- Obtain documents from Electric Distribution Designers to facilitate the permit application process
- Track, obtain and archive all required approvals for permits and act as liaison between the company and client
- Prepare and submit applications to client to support various agencies / boards having jurisdiction over required permits and / or approvals
- Review any plans issued out for correct revision dates and permit details
- Coordinate paperwork and applications with client which includes updating and monitoring status in work management system
- Performs data entry tasks for submittals and preparation of field packets for construction crews.
- Work closely with agencies on permit status and ensure they are processed in a timely manner
- Produce and maintain schedules for all communities and coordinate with all stakeholders from inception to approval of permitting process
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, etc.
- Maintain all company files relating to permitting documents
- Perform other office administrative duties and assist other administrative personnel, as needed
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred2-5 years of experience with permitting work in road right-of-way, utilities, and municipalities, reading and developing permit drawings, preferredFamiliar with drawing software tools such as AutoCAD and other Geomedia platforms, preferredStrong organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and take initiativeAble to read blueprints and plot plans is a plusExperience in the fields of power distribution, transmission, and survey would be beneficial.Detail-oriented team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with heavy volume workloadIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel) and PDF editing, preferredExcellent follow-up, communication (written and verbal) and time management skillsAble to professionally perform multiple detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlinesAbility to match existing staff schedule of M-TH, 6 am-4 : 30 pm, a 4x10 schedule is preferred.Benefits :
