Position Overview
Palo Alto County Health System (PACHS) is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Revenue Cycle Director to lead and coordinate all aspects of the revenue cycle, including billing, collections, and insurance processing. This leadership role requires strong financial acumen, operational oversight, and a commitment to excellence in patient service and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate staff in the business office.
- Oversee governmental reimbursement programs, denials management, commercial insurance billing, and the financial assistance program.
- Analyze and interpret financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with negotiation, development, and management of third-party payer contracts.
- Manage billing operations with a focus on workflow efficiency and accuracy of claims.
- Maintain charge master and ensure compliance with billing regulations.
- Monitor accounts receivable performance and implement strategies to maximize cash flow.
- Prepare and distribute reports for internal departments and external agencies.
- Participate in budget planning and evaluate equipment needs.
- Develop departmental goals aligned with organizational strategies.
- Ensure adequate staffing and conduct timely employee evaluations.
- Participate in regional patient accounts teams and PACHS committees.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and regulatory policies.
- Support PACHS's mission and uphold patient confidentiality and dignity.
Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field.Certificate of either Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred .Experience :
Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle functions.Previous supervisory or management experience.Strong inpatient and outpatient medical coding and billing audit experience.Experience with Cerner Community Works electronic medical records preferred.Knowledge of federal and state laws related to critical access hospital managemen t.Skills :
High-level interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in office equipment and computer systems.Ability to analyze and solve problems in a team environment.Flexibility to work varied hours and adapt to changing healthcare processes.Benefits
