Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AS / 400 Mainframe Developer with strong hands-on skills in legacy application maintenance and modernization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in COBOL, DB2, and AS / 400 operations , along with exposure to Java-based web environments transitioning from WebSphere to Tomcat.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, enhance, and maintain core AS / 400 applications supporting enterprise processes.

Write, test, and debug COBOL / 400 programs, stored procedures, and batch jobs.

Work with DB2 databases for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

Support modernization initiatives involving Java migration ( WebSphere Tomcat ).

Optimize SQL queries, manage data interfaces, and perform production issue resolution.

Utilize DJDE (Dynamic Job Descriptor Entry) for print stream formatting and document generation.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to project timelines.

Required Skills

Proficiency in AS / 400 and COBOL programming

Strong DB2 and SQL knowledge

Hands-on experience with DJDE scripting and job configuration

Familiarity with Java-based integration (WebSphere / Tomcat)

Preferred Skills

Experience in system modernization or platform migration projects

Understanding of Agile / Scrum delivery practices
