Provides Project Managers, Construction Managers, Project management and their teams with the necessary service relative to Health, Safety and Environmental activities and provides guidance to promote an effective HSE program. The position supports all project related initiatives and individuals in an effort to eliminate hazards in the work place that could cause property damage, injury, illness or harm to the environment. Report operationally to the Project Manager / Director on all HSE program and operational matters. Typically assigned to support large, complex projects.
Duties and Responsibilities : Member of the project leadership team; leads all HSE functions : o Environmental and Regulatory (Advisian) o Technical Safety (Worley) o Third-Party Subject Matter Experts (DNV) Prepares CTR estimates and works with project controls to manage team time and progress. Responsible for communicating with client (client facing role) and senior project leadership regarding HSE team objectives and deliverables. Manages project deliverables across multiple teams across different disciplines. Must have the experience and ability to perform safety leadership tasks with limited supervision. Ensure delivery of relevant, timely information to all key participants enabling the project to be executed to high quality standards. Provide all project personnel including the customer with a single point of contact for all HSE needs. Ensures offshore operations are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory and industry procedures / requirements / standards. Stops work in imminent danger situations or conditions having imminent adverse environmental impact. Recommends to project leadership that Notices of Non-Compliance be issued, follows up to ensure corrective actions, are implemented. Leads or assists, as assigned, in incident investigations, Root Cause Analyses, HSE audits, and site visits. Prepares reports as required. Participates in meetings representing offshore safety group. Leads Safety Moments. Prepares presentations and reports.
Qualifications : Minimum five (5) years experience with HSE planning and execution of major offshore projects. Minimum fifteen15 years' experience in progressive safety leadership roles in the offshore oil and gas / subsea construction / offshore pipeline environment. OR university degree in occupational safety and health or related field WITH minimum ten (10) years' experience INCLUDING at least five (5) years' of field work.
