Overview
As a Service Engineer I based in Novi, MI, you will provide hands-on installation, maintenance, and technical support for Hexagon's precision measurement equipment and metrology solutions. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a technical background who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, and working in the field to ensure our clients' systems operate at peak performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of Hexagon measurement systems (CMMs, laser trackers, and related equipment).
- Provide preventive maintenance and service repairs to ensure optimal system functionality.
- Deliver customer training and technical support on proper system operation and software usage.
- Accurately document all service visits, repairs, and customer communications.
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to resolve complex issues and improve service delivery.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Hexagon hardware and software solutions.
- Ensure all work complies with company safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field preferred.0–2 years of experience in field service, technical support, or mechanical / electrical systems maintenance.Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision instruments or manufacturing equipment.Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.Willingness to travel regionally (up to 50–75%) to support customer sites.Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS) is a plus.Valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Physical Demands
