Ice Center Operations Manager (Ice Center) SUNY Broome Community College is seeking an experienced and motivated Ice Center Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and scheduling of the campus Ice Center. This role oversees programming, events, staff, budget, and facility maintenance, ensuring a safe and welcoming space for all. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : Manage daily Ice Center operations, including staff and student worker supervision, training, and evaluations. Coordinate scheduling for rentals, leagues, and community events. Oversee ice and facility maintenance, including routine and emergency repairs, and ensure safety compliance. Prepare and manage the Ice Center budget. Plan, promote, and staff events, coordinating employees, volunteers, and support services. Manage setups and breakdowns for multi-use events. Ensure safe operation of resurfacing and maintenance equipment; train staff in proper use. Requirements : Bachelor's degree in an applicable field required. Minimum of four (4) years of related experience, including knowledge of sports arenas, facility management, figure skating, hockey, and ice arena maintenance. At least two (2) years of supervisory experience. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required. Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship. Required Skills : Experience managing budgets and handling administrative tasks. Knowledge of recreational programming and creative marketing strategies. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable using computer applications for scheduling, billing, and general office tasks. Willingness to learn (or experience with) operating and maintaining ice resurfacing equipment, skate sharpeners, ice edgers, and related tools. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements : Ability to stand and move around for extended periods, often on icy surfaces. Moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and reaching. Work in a cooler-than-normal indoor environment. Additional Information : The minimum salary for this position is $68,361. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
