American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a night shift contract requiring a CA RN license and pediatric hospital experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of a pediatric hospitalWork schedule is three 12-hour night shifts per week (19 : 00 - 07 : 00)Care involves ventilators 2-3 shifts per week, including oscillator, conventional vents, bubble CPAP, and NIPPVPatient population includes neonates with hyperbilirubinemia, general surgery needs, sepsis, steroid therapy, and small baby carePre- and post-operative surgical experience required, with care for trachs, central lines, and dripsWill float as first priority to Peds, PICU, or CVICU as neededEvery other weekend shifts requiredNo call responsibilityUses Cerner EMR systemMust work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignmentMaximum of 7 days off allowed; no time off permitted in the first weekFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyReturn staff must have a 1-year separation before eligibility to reapplyModules required during orientation, up to 8 hours, are self-reportedLocals are not accepted; candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facilityNo jet vent experience required; care involves small neonates and surgical interventions\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license in hand required (no pending or temporary licenses accepted)Minimum 2 years of NICU experience requiredMust have previous pediatric hospital experience for floating eligibilityCurrent certifications required : BLS, NRP, and PALSProficient with ventilator management, hyperbilirubinemia, sepsis care, steroids, pre / post-op surgical procedures, trachs, central lines, and dripsFamiliarity with Cerner EMR preferredMust provide two supervisor references from the same unit within one year\n Benefits\n
