Location : Fredericksburg, VA

Company : FP Mechanical / Facilities Plus

Job Type : Full-Time

Pay : $18.00 - $22.00 / hour

Schedule : Monday – Friday (with occasional overtime)

FP Mechanical (a division of Facilities Plus) provides HVAC service, repair, and preventive maintenance for commercial and institutional clients throughout the region. Job Summary

We’re looking for a motivated HVAC Helper to support our service technicians in performing inspections, preventive maintenance (PM), and repairs on commercial HVAC equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn the trade and grow into a full HVAC Technician role.

Responsibilities

  • Assist HVAC Technicians with routine service and preventive maintenance.
  • Replace filters, belts, and perform coil and drain cleaning.
  • Help troubleshoot and test components like motors, relays, and thermostats.
  • Retrieve tools, materials, and assist in setup and cleanup of work areas.
  • Maintain safe and organized job sites and vehicles.
  • Support documentation of service work and PM reports.
  • Follow all company and customer safety procedures.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service on every job.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with hand / power tools.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work safely on ladders or rooftops.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn the HVAC trade.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience assisting with HVAC or building maintenance.
  • Enrollment in an HVAC trade school or apprenticeship.
  • EPA 608 certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Familiarity with PM checklists or service documentation.
