Job Title : DCS Operator

Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a DCS Operator, where you will be integral in managing production processes from a control room environment. This role involves sitting at a desk, monitoring computer screens that control chemical, water, and raw material processes for production.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate DCS loops to actively manage critical process and equipment control.
  • Support plant performance by optimizing processes and maintaining production stability.
  • Ensure safety and compliance by adhering to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to alarms, addressing issues as they arise.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process deviations quickly and effectively.
  • Regulate and control multiple process variables to ensure safe and reliable operations.
  • Serve as first-line incident control during emergencies and coordinate shutdowns with field operators.
  • Communicate process changes, problems, and incidents to supervisors and field operators.
  • Record operating data, compile reports, and maintain logbooks for shift handovers.

Essential Skills

  • Prior experience as a DCS Operator.
  • Experience with controls for valves, pressure, boilers, chemicals, water, and production.
  • Solid understanding of process control, instrumentation, and plant operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks and work rotating shifts.

    • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with specific DCS platforms.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

    Work Environment

    Work in an industrial manufacturing plant with a 2,2,3 shift schedule. Initial training occurs during the day, followed by a transition to night shifts. Opportunities for overtime (8-36 hours per month) are available. The plant is equipped with presses, blend tanks, agitators, servo motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and refiners. Operators will spend much of their time seated in a control room, monitoring and controlling production processes.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vonore, Tennessee.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00 / hr.
