Commonwealth Hand and Physical Therapy is looking for a part-time therapy technician.
The OT / PT Technician’s role is to assist clinical and office staff in all functions under supervision. Specific functions required under the supervision of an Occupational or Physical Therapist may include initial patient set-up, modality applications, maintenance and organization of clinic areas, maintaining temperature status of paraffin bath and hydrocollators, inventory / supply maintenance, and making copies of home exercise programs / progress notes. Specific functions required under the office supervisor may include reception / scheduling, answering phones, pulling and maintaining files, callbacks, mailings, pre-certification of new and existing patients with insurance companies, assisting patients with intake forms, occasional trips to the store for office supplies, and other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess the ability to relate and work well with patients, peers, and supervisors.
- At least 1 year of experience as a therapy technician is preferred but not required.
- Time management and organizational aptitude are a must.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
Treat each patient and staff member in accordance with the CHT mission statement.To accompany / transfer patients to the appropriate treatment area.To assist in routine patient care activities / modality applications as directed by the supervising Occupational / Physical Therapist and within the guidelines mandated by Kentucky’s State Practice Acts for Occupational and Physical Therapy.Maintain the facility in a clean and organized fashion throughout the day to include : laundry, cleaning of exercise equipment, organization of supplies, splint station, therapy tools, and other more specific duties as assigned by supervisor.Assist in routine clerical duties as deemed necessary by the Clinical Director / Office Manager.Assist in all other clinical / office functions as required by the Clinical Director or Office Manager.Maintain the privacy of clientele as required within HIPPA guidelines.Adhere to OSHA and cleanliness standards as set forth by the facility.Application Question :
