About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 2 years in acute care

License : WA or Compact License required

Certifications : BLS required

Must-Have :

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in acute care

Experience with titrating Heparin and Cardizem drips

Ability to read telemetry strips

Description :

The unit consists of 18 beds with patient ratios of 1 : 4 to 1 : 5.

The patient population includes medical-surgical overflow patients with conditions such as heart failure, diabetes, urinary tract infections, non-critical sepsis, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and post-operative care from general surgery.

Nurses are required to read telemetry strips and, pending approval, may have access to telemetry / monitor technician support.

Charge nurses or house supervisors may be available on the unit.

Nurse aides are present to assist with ratios of 1 : 9.

The equipment used includes CPAP and BiPAP for respiratory support, but not high flow.

Weekend requirements will be based on unit needs and demands.

Floating to other units may be required as needed.

The dress code does not specify a particular scrub color.

The orientation period is 2-3 shifts.

The hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment.

The charting system used is EPIC.

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not required.

This is a brand-new department opening soon.
