Job Title : Senior Concrete Estimator

Location : Hybrid - Marysville, Washington, United States

Salary : $120,000 - $160,000 + Bonus

About the Construction Company / The Opportunity :

Are you an expert in concrete construction estimation ready to take on a pivotal leadership role? Our client, a well-established firm within the construction industry, specializes in self-perform concrete projects across a variety of commercial and civil scopes. As a Senior Concrete Estimator, you will leverage your industry expertise to develop accurate bid proposals, drive business growth, and manage critical client relationships. This is your opportunity to play an instrumental role in preconstruction, foster long-term partnerships, and be part of a results-driven team focused on company growth and operational excellence.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead the preparation of thorough, accurate pricing and scope estimates for new and existing concrete projects, including change orders.
  • Read and interpret detailed bid instructions, project specifications, and drawings to perform comprehensive take-offs and material quantity calculations.
  • Estimate all necessary labor, materials, buy-out items, equipment, and logistics to ensure complete bid packages with proper profit margins.
  • Review and analyze proposals, attend pre-bid meetings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in preconstruction and project management.
  • Incorporate safety best practices and cost-effective methods during the estimating phase.
  • Drive business development by proactively identifying, engaging, and securing new clients within the region.
  • Cultivate and manage key client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and guide junior estimators or project staff, supporting their growth and adherence to best practices in client communications and bid strategies.
  • Participate in regional trade shows, client-focused events, and industry networking functions to expand the company’s market presence.

Must-Have Skills :

  • 8+ years of experience in concrete industry estimating for foundations, flatwork, tilt-up, sitework, or structural concrete.
  • Strong expertise in construction estimation, bid strategy, scope analysis, and preconstruction planning.
  • Experience with self-perform concrete projects and comprehensive knowledge of construction principles / practices.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver accurate reports and presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience in client relationship management and business development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering preferred.

  • Experience mentoring junior estimators or cross-functional team members.
  • Advanced problem-solving capabilities and adaptability working with diverse teams or clients.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard estimating and CRM software platforms.
  • Demonstrated participation in industry networking, trade shows, or client-facing events.
  • Leadership qualities including adaptability, mentorship, creativity, teamwork, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Previous success with strategic client acquisition initiatives and pursuit package leadership.
