Job Description
We are looking for a News Anchor / Reporter for the Rocky Mountain Region of 24 / 7 News. This is an exciting part-time opportunity to contribute local, regional, and national content in a dynamic newsroom environment. Must be able to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
Responsibilities
Anchor newscasts for multiple markets.Write clear, concise news copy.Produce, edit and write content for 24 / 7 Newswire.Post news and video content to newsroom social media platforms.Gather audio from press conferences, live events and partner TV stations.Produce short-form reports (voicers / wraps) for anchors on the following shift.May be called on to anchor breaking news reports as needed.General newsroom responsibilities and duties as assigned.Requirements
Self-motivated to find stories as a reporter and also anchor newscasts for multiple markets.Strong social media skills including email, writing / posting for Facebook, X (Twitter) and Instagram.Must be willing to work nights, holidays, and weekends.Strong on-air presence and ability to present newscasts with authority.Excellent writing and editing ability; excellent grammar.Strong time management skills; adept at setting priorities and managing deadlines.Knowledgeable and up to date with local, regional, and national trends.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Proficient in media production (primarily audio) and broadcast systems.3+ years’ experience in on-air journalism in smaller market or college station.4-year college degree, preferably in Broadcast Journalism or Communications.What We Offer
Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data.
$18.81 - $19.29
