Location : Harrison Township, NJ (ZIP 08062) – New Jersey nursing jobs

Healthcare Setting : Emergency Department (ED)

Contract Duration : 13 weeks – travel nurse contract

Hours per Week : 48 (4x12 hour night shifts)

Start Date : October 27, 2025

Weekend Requirement : Must be available to work weekends

Float Requirement : Within specialty, possibly to ED hold

Holiday Requirement : Typically not scheduled on holidays, but subject to census

Time Off : No more than 3 days accepted; no block scheduling or special requests

Pay Rate : $86.49 / hr

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2,535 - $2,817

Emergency Room Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience required

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Prior travel nursing experience (at least one completed contract assignment)

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with New Jersey State Board of Nursing

American Heart Association BLS certification required

ACLS and PALS certifications (AHA) required within 6 months of hire

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Critical Care Course within 1 year, or 2 years critical care experience, or current CEN

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months or 8 contact hours of trauma education every two years

National Certification in emergency nursing specialty preferred

ER RN Responsibilities

Conduct rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and deliver immediate emergency interventions

Analyze clinical data, develop and implement patient care plans, and collaborate with physicians and healthcare team

Float within the Emergency Department and to ED hold as needed

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

Meet physical requirements including frequent lifting, standing, walking, and adapting to fast-paced environments

Engage in ongoing trauma and critical care education to maintain clinical excellence
