WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Our Technical Designer II will report to the Director of Technical Design. You will collaborate with internal and external Design Partners, Product Management, PCC, Materials and Manufacturing to effectively execute on product development and fit goals deliverables.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Technical Designer II supports the fit and construction from initial concept through to commercialization of styles to lead the on time development and delivery according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance and profitability goals. The Technical Designer II helps coordinate fit sessions, takes notes and supports the larger Technical Design team to complete tech packs for our Product Creation Center teams.

They will have a small style count with low / mid complexity and will track and facilitate prototyping for those styles also. They will have a foundational knowledge of patterns, garment construction, graphic execution and be able to convey comments through both written and verbal communication. They will be able to identify and communicate basic fit issues and have an understanding of graded nests / markers. They will feel comfortable to seek out resources internally to continue their fit / pattern education through trainings, mentorship and special projects.

The Technical Designer II keeps abreast of market trends, team goals, new technologies and consumer needs throughout the development process and engages appropriately to ensure projects are completed within corporate guidelines and goals for all facets of product creation.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

In this role you will also be responsible for the Technical Design of assigned styles product in Nike / SKIMS Apparel. Working with Design, Product Management and Product Creation Center on tailoring the product to the specific consumer needs.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor\'s degree in apparel design, textile science or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.
  • 2+ years technical design experience in the apparel industry, including the apparel development process from inception through production including pattern making, grading, construction, materials, costing, manufacturing and quality.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Experience interpreting design intent.
  • Experience writing product specs and construction standards instructions.
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator, CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex) and 3D software (Clo / Browzwear).
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic and international).
